Frances Mary (Schmidt) Thurston of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012. Age 82 years. The daughter of the late George and Melrose (Snider) Morford was born April 29, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan, and was a graduate of Saginaw High School in 1948. She married Marvin L. Schmidt, November 27, 1948. He passed away October 26, 1977. Later she married Donald D. Thurston, January 9, 1982. He passed away in 1996. She retired from St. Lukes Hospital (Covenant) with twenty-three years of service. Surviving are a daughter and a son, Deborah M. Carmichael; Marvin G. Schmidt and his wife, Lisa; nine grandchildren, Lori Winiecke; Vincent Carmichael; Amanda Carmichael; Jeremy Schmidt and his wife, Chelsea; Melissa Schmidt; Joshua Schmidt and his wife, Kristianna; Kristie Schmidt; Sophia Schmidt; Elizabeth Schmidt; eight great grandchildren, Zachariah, Alexandra; Colton, Caydence, Ryon, Alexis, Joshua and Skyler; several nieces and nephews. A son-in-law, Glenn R. Carmichael; and two brothers, Lawrence and William Morford; and one sister, Goldie Morford, have predeceased her. Cremation has taken place.
