Sarah Exa was born in Rising Star, Texas, to the late Charles Jefferson and Eurnice Earls Hodnett Bishop. She attended school in Killeen, graduating from the original Avenue D High School. Exa married Ralph Davis in Killeen on December 12, 1942. She was a beautician and owned Exa's Beauty Shop in downtown Killeen for many years. Later, she sold mobile homes and was in retail sales at Killeen Mall.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, on July 16, 1986; brothers, Howard, Harlan, Tom, and Charles Bishop; and sisters, Verna Brock, Florine Huess, Gwendola Shapland, and Ethel Bishop.
Survivors include son, Russell and wife, Oteeka, of Harker Heights; daughter, Sarah Sims Harris and husband, David, of Victoria; grandsons, Jason Davis (currently in Afghanistan) and wife, Nancy, of Washington, and Scott Sims, of San Antonio; and great-grandchildren, Sydney, Aubrey, and Marshall Davis, of Washington.
