Dana Gibson Austin, of Greenville, died Tuesday in a Dallas hospital. Services will be at Salem-Kinser Methodist Church at 10 a.m. Friday with Dr. Bill Shaddox officiating. Burial will be in East Mount Cemetery.
Born March 22, 1928, in Haverhill, Miss., he was the son of Walter B. and Ruth Manson Austin. On Dec. 14, 1952, in Wilmington, N.C., he married Peg Robertson. Mr. Austin was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a salesman and member of Salem-Kinser Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Peg R. Austin of Greenville; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Vickie Austin of Dallas, Bob and Lori Austin of Lewisville; daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbi and Darrel Key, Betty and Leland Moody, all of Greenville; sisters, Natalie Foster, Betty Lewis and Joann Widener, all of Haverhill, Mass.; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1959; father in 1962; brother, John in 1998; and brother Walter Jr. in 1982. Memorials may be may be made to Salem-Kinser Methodist Church library.
