Griffith Phillips died December 31, 1904 at 9:00am, at this home on Grant Street, Frostburg. Several daughters and sons survive. He suffered from Miners Asthma. He had lately been employed upon the public roads. He was born in Wales in 1843 and came to America thirty-seven years ago from Mountain Ash, Glennorganshire.
Besides listing his wife and children as survivors, it also stated that he had one sister and three brothers living, but not named.

Death Of Mr. Phillips

The many friends of Mr. Griffith Phillips were sorry to learn of his death at his home Saturday morning at 9 a.m., after a lingering illness from asthma. The deceased was born in Wales in 1843 and came to America thirty-seven years ago from Mountain Ash, Glennorganshire, and has resided here ever since.
The deceased is survived by his wife and the following children, Mrs. James Thomas, Mrs. William Taylor, Mrs. Thomas Langford, Miss Sarah, Messrs, John and David all of this place, and Mrs. Frederick Dudley, of Eckhart Mines. He is also survived by one sister and three brothers. The deceased gentleman was a highly respected member of the Knights of Honor for many years, which organization will attend the funeral in a body. The funeral will take place on Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock from the residence. Rev. Alexander C. Haverstick, of St. John's Episcopal, and Rev. Morgan, of the Welsh Baptist Church, will officiate at the funeral. Interment will be made in Allegany cemetery. The deceased was 61 years of age.
