Esther Marie Hillis, 76, of 1005 Summer St., Apt. A, died at 11:58 p.m., Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.She was born Oct. 16, 1924,in Muscle Shoals, Ala., to Modie B. and Ada E. Cobb Daniel. She married Jimmie Lee Hillis on July 1, 1966, in Peoria.She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 20, 1995, in Peoria; four brothers and one sister.Surviving are one son, Lindon L. (Carol) Cagle of Pekin; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Austin and Lafara Dean, both of Muscle Shoals; and one brother, Cecil E. (Alma Lee) Daniel, also of Muscle Shoals.Mrs. Hillis last worked as a waitress and cook at the Center Tap in East Peoria for four years and previously had worked at the Wagon Wheel Restaurant in East Peoria for 13 years. She was a member of the General Baptist Church in North Pekin.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin chapel. The Rev. Jim DeBruyne will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G.
