CHATSWORTH - The Funeral Of Clarence J. Schroen, 89, of Manito, formerly of Chatsworth, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Culkin-Diggle Funeral Home, Chatsworth, the Rev. Richard Hertenstein officiating. Burial will be in Chatsworth Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour before the service Monday at the funeral home. He died at 6:32 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 3, 1995) at Pekin Memorial Hospital. Memorials may be made to Forman Ambulance Service, Manito.
Surviving is his wife, Carolyn of Manito.
Mr. Schroen was born Aug. 31, 1905, in Germanville Township, in Livingston County, the son of Bruno and Bertha Wurmnest Schroen. He married Carolyn Hornickel on Feb. 16, 1934, in Chatsworth.
Mr. Schroen and his wife farmed in Germanville Township until his retirement in 1969. He served as road commissioner of Germanville Township for eight years and also served as deputy sheriff in Livingston County for 20 years.
He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Chatsworth.
