Nabor Lucero, 66, passed away peacefully on July 8, 1997, after a lengthy illness.

Nabor was a career Veteran with the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He retired from the New Mexico State Highway Department in April 1990 after working many years at Washington Liquor Store.

He was an active parishioner of Cristo Rey Catholic Church, a Eucharistic Minister and lived Crucillo 206.

He was a member of V.F.W., the Canyon Road Association and Caballeros de Vargas.

After Nabor retired, he pursued his true calling of woodworking and will be remembered by his children, family and friends through his exquisitely designed woodwork.

Nabor is remembered by his wife, Victoria, not only as a loving husband but as her best friend.

He was also a loving and caring father who cherished his family and taught them high morale standards through his examples.

Nabor was preceded in death by his parents: Nazario and Carolina Lucero; brothers: Alejo Lucero and wife Lucy, Pantalion Lucero and wife Mariana; sister: Carlota Lopez; sisters-in-law: Carlota Rodriguez, Maida Rodriguez and brother-in-law: Ted Rodriguez.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Victoria Lucero; brother: Jose Lucero and wife Helen of Martinez, California; his children: Diana Lucero and fiancée Phillip Archuleta, Debra Lucero, David Nabor Lucero and wife Kimberly, Phillip Anthony Lucero and wife Annabel, Frankie Nazario Lucero and wife Carmen, Joseph A. Lucero and wife Faylene, Richard Victor Lucero and wife Lena G.; grandchildren: Tracy, Victoria, Joseph, Sasha, Rose, Federico, Phillip II, Elise, Ernest, Jasmine, and Felisha; great-grandson: Domonick, all of Santa Fe; sisters-in-law: Margaret Lucero of Santa Fe, Tilli Garcia and husband Pedro of Santa Fe, Agatha Rodriguez and friend Julio Banilla of Alameda, California, Maxine Chavez of Albuquerque; brothers-in-law: Guadalupe Rodriguez of Cactus, Texas, Gilbert Rodriguez and wife Fran of Santa Fe, Frances Rodriguez; special cousins: Leroy Lucero of Santa Fe, Johnny and Carmen Lucero of San Jose, California; many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Interment followed at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Tony Jimenez, Bob Lury, Leroy Lucero, Bernie Rodriguez, Carlos Rodriguez and Willie Apodaca.
