Wade H. Loofbourrow was born in Beaver County, Okla., March 18, 1898, to Robert Hale Loofbourrow and Bertha Loofbourrow. He grew up in Beaver and attended the University of Oklahoma where he graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Law.
On January 1, 1921, he married Edith Miles, and after his graduation, he and Edith moved to Buffalo, Okla., where Wade practiced law until 1935. During these years Wade served one term in the Oklahoma State Senate. In 1935, he was appointed Assistant United States District Attorney in Oklahoma City where he served until the outbreak of World War II. During the first World War he had enlisted in the Army, and after the end, had maintained his commission in the reserves. At the beginning of World War II, he was called to active duty and served in the Judge Advocate division of the Army. He was discharged at the cessation of hostilities with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. In 1947 he and Edith returned to the Oklahoma Panhandle, settling in Boise City, where Wade practiced law until his retirement in 1983.
Two children were born to Wade and Edith, Mrs. Marilyn Word, of Amarillo, Tex., and Robert Loofbourrow of Hayden Lake, Idaho. He had five grandchildren, Terry Loofbourrow, of Globe, Ariz., Robert Wade Loofbourrow of Lake City, Colo., Ann Kincannon of Irving, Tex., Barbara Salge of Amarillo, Tex., and Jane Miles Gardner, of Boise City, Okla. Wade enjoyed his children and grandchildren.
Wade was an avid fisherman, and looked forward each year to his summer visit in Colorado, where he spent his time angling.
He often during his later years, expressed his thankfulness that the Lord had given him a good family, and an abundance of necessities of life. For many years he was a member of the St. Paul's Methodist church in Boise City.
Wade passed away on March 26, 1986 in Amarillo, Tex., and is survived by a brother Hale Loofbourrow of Los Olivos, Calif., the children and grandchildren mentioned above and other relatives.
