J. N. JOHNSON, 69, DIES AT HIS HOME
J. N. Johnson , 69, died at 4:30 p.m. Monday at his home in North
Jackson Heights after a lingering illness. A native of Maryland, Mr.
Johnson had lived in Palestine for a number of years, having been engaged
in the cotton business.
Funeral services 4 p.m. Tuesday at Broyles Chapel with Rev. P. F. Weisinger and Rev. Elvis Stanley officiating. Pallbearers: Arnold Broughton, Rube
Howard, Walter Nixon, Marshall Johnson, Walter McInnis, Henry Davenport, Drew Wommack.
Survivors are his wife, five sons, Belton, George, Dalton, S.P., and Clayton Johnson, all of Palestine, two daughters Mrs. G. M. Ballard, Miss Flossie Johnson, Palestine; three brothers, W. C. Johnson of West Virginia, J. S. Johnson of Rusk, and C. T. Johnson, Palestine; a half-brother J. F. Johnson, Nacogdoches, two sisters, Mrs. M. B. Smith of Jackson, Miss, and Mrs. M. J. Barron, Mississippi; two half-sisters Mrs. P. S. Mannix of Palestine, and Mrs. C. D. Kucher of Houston, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
