"DEFAUT - At Cape Vincent, N.Y., Jan 23d, 1879 in an epileptic fit,: Mrs. FANNIE A. DEFAUT. Deceased is a mother of Mrs. Asa Fowles and Mr. J.A. DeFaut, of our town. The sad intelligence of her death reached the relatives here but a few days ago."

Joshua and Lucretia FOWLES lived on Carlton Island, Jefferson County, N.Y. in the mid 1800's. Son, Asa FOWLES married Mary DEFAUT (Mrs. Mary Legro) in 1855 and migrated to Wis.
Mrs. Fannie DEFAUT (Mary DeFaut Fowles' mother) died at Cape Vincent, N.Y. Jan 23, 1879.
I need death and burial information on Fannie DeFaut and any other information the FOWLES or DEFAUT families.
