Mary Marie Fuller Venable, 89, of Bryan, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 7, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. A time for the family to receive friends will be Tuesday, July 10, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hillier Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Cook Walden-Forest Park Cemetery in Austin, Texas, with her nephew, Larry Paul Venable, officiating.
Marie was born in Etoile, Texas, to the late Elijah and Elizabeth (Youngblood) Fuller. After graduating from Ouachita High School in Monroe, La., she attended beauty school and received her Cosmetology license. She met James Edward Venable whom she married on July 31, 1942. After moving to Austin in 1950 she went to work for Bonner McLain Advertising where she was the administrative assistant to the president for over 35 years. She was a member of First Baptist Bryan.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991; and her brothers and sisters-in-laws, Marie Whitman, L.E. Street Venable, Edith Crane, and Bev "Ben" Venable.
Survivors include a son, Jim Vena and wife, Janble, of Wimberley, Bettye Swanzy and husband, Harold, of Bryan; grandchildren, Rogers (Trey) Holt III, Ryan Holt and wife, Jan, Nicholas and wife, Michelle Bilbo-Swanzy, Shiloh Rose Venable, and Lilly Marie Venable; great-grandchildren, Ryland Holt and Evan Holt; brother, Harold Ray and wife, Ruby Lincecum; sister, Shirlynn Guess and husband, Robert; niece, Ora Sue Hamby and husband, Lloyd, of Little Rock, Ark.; sister-in-law, Margie Venable, of San Antonio; brother-in-law, Henry Whitman, of Yukon, OK; as well as many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
