Jean R. Glenn, age 84, died Thurs., Sept. 6, 2012 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia. She was born on the farm in Clay Co., KS to Thomas & Evangeline (Sorell) Ferron. She graduated from Clyde High School.
She married Alfred Arpin on 4/24/1946 and to this union, 2 daughters, Patricia and Susan were born. He preceded her on 7/3/72.
She later married Jo E. Glenn on 10/1/74 in Clyde, KS.
She worked as a cook for the Clyde High School, then Montgomery Wards and then as a salesclerk for Palmquist Drug Store. She was a member of the VFW & American Legion Auxiliaries, Concordia, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clifton and the Altar Societies. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by her husband, Jo, Concordia; daughters, Patricia Walker, DVM (James), Concordia & Susan Bechard (Steven), Clifton; stepdaughter, Mary Gonzalez (Sabas), Indianapolis, IN; stepson, J. Ed Glenn (Cheryl), K.C., MO; grandchildren, Lisa Kuhn, Mary Gutierrez, April Fahey, Bradley Bechard, Devin Bechard, Bill Genereux, Melinda Schowengerdt, James Glenn, Heather McFeely, Rachel Glenn, Andrew York & Amanda York and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Arpin; parents; brothers, Ovid, Ralph & Donald Ferron & sisters, Irene Billinger & Effie Lapaille.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 am, Mon, Sept. 10 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde with Rev. Larry Letourneau officiating. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Clyde. Visitation will be from 1-8 pm Sun. with a vigil service will be held at 6:30 pm at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorials to Mt. Calvary or St. Joseph Cemetery Funds.
