Ruby May Williams was born May 20, 1922 In Jacksonville, Morgan County, Illinois to Reba Bertie (Boss) and Floyd Edgar Williams.

Floyd Williams passed away on October 17, 1927, and Ruby's life was forever altered.

After her father passed away, Ruby's mother decided to place part of her children in an orphanage. Ruby was placed at the age of 8. When she was 16, she ran away from the orphanage to fend for herself.

Ruby was the housekeeper for the Hetzler family for room and food. She went to California with them. They returned to get their belongings, but never returned to California, stranding Ruby and leaving her homeless. She was sleeping in cars at night until she met Henry Reynolds.

Henry Johnson Reynolds was born 10 August 1924 in Lafayette, Macon, Tennessee to Pearl Dimple (Johnson) and Amzira Reynolds.

On November 29, 1945, Henry and Ruby married in Clark County, Nevada. They resided in California, but eventually settled in Lakewood, California for their children's growing up years while Henry worked in construction all over the Los Angeles basin.

Henry & Ruby raised their two daughters, Joyce Ann and Jeri Sue. Their son Henry Jay tragically died at 6 weeks of age from pneumonia and lung problems in spite of attempts to save him the last few days of his life in the hospital. Their daughter Judith Pearl was born in 1947 with grave medical issues. The Reynolds family did not have the financial means to obtain the necessary surgeries to treat her medical problems. Henry and Ruby chose to let another family of financial means adopt their daughter to give her the life that they could not.

At his retirement, Henry talked to his wife about the need to downsize their living standards and they could either live on the ocean or the desert. Ruby chose the desert.

Henry and Ruby moved to Yucca Valley, California, and lived there the rest of their lives.

Henry passed away on June 14, 2004 in Yucca Valley, California. Ruby passed away December 21, 2005 in Yucca Valley, California. Both Henry and Ruby were cremated and their daughter Joy holds the ashes in memorium on her mantel.
