NAMPA — Funeral services for Sonke S. Jensen, 68, 203 Banner St., who died Friday at a local hospital after an extended illness, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel with the Rev. C. Keith Mills of the Nampa First Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Garden of Good Shepherd in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Jensen was born March 5, 1898, in North Dakota, and was reared there. He was married to Dorothy Loomer June 5, 1921 in Ransom County, N.D., where they made their home prior to coming to Nampa, Idaho, in 1936. He was employed by the Pacific Fruit Express shops as a carman from 1937 until his retirement in June of 1965.
He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Nampa, and of the Brotherhood of Railway Carman.
Surviving are his wife Dorothy, of Nampa; two sons, Charles Jensen and Don Jensen, both of Nampa; two daughters, Mrs. Faye Bryant and Mrs. Evelyn Howard, both of Nampa; one brother, Herman Jensen of Kindred, N.D.; five sisters, Mrs. Margaret Ballinger, Mrs. Mary Rufsoold, Mrs. Olga Kelly, and Mrs. Anna Schiffner, all of Englevale, N.D.; and Mrs. Tillie Ballinger, of Canada; 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
