Robert W. Kilbourn, 225 North McGregor St. in Carthage passed away at his home of organic heart disease.
His first wife, Mary C. Officer Kilbourn, born 15 Jun 1855 in Mercer, Illinois to James and Gertrude Officer. She preceded him in death on 25 Sept 1894.

He remarried again in 1896 to Sarah Herron, and she preceded him in death Feb 9, 1910.
Parents were Hiram and Lydia C Kilbourn.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Knell Mortuary in Carthage, MO. Missouri Death Certificate

CARTHAGE CARRIAGE AND AUTO REPAIR WORKS
WILL CONTINUE THE BUSINESS

Robert W. Kilbourn, J. E. Mallory and W. F. Staggs have bought out the Lanpher Bros. carriage and automobile works and will continue business in the second story of the building heretofore occupied by the Lanphers' at the corner of Second and Grant streets. They will paint and trim automobiles and buggies. The trimming work will include all kinds of upholstering and the repair and renewal of tops. All the men in this firm have long lived in Carthage and they have had much experience their line of work. The public knows their worth and ability and will have not doubt give them a large share of their business.

HEART ATTACK FATAL TO CARTHAGE PIONEER

Veteran Carriage Maker, 77, Came Here as Youth - Three Children Survive


Robert W. Kilbourn, veteran retired carriage maker and well-known, long time Carthage resident, died at 8:40 o'clock this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. L. Powers, 325 North McGregor street. Death was due to heart disease. He was stricken late yesterday, but had been in ill health ten years.
Mr. Kilbourn was 77 years old and had resided in Carthage nearly all of his life, coming here as a youth. He was born in Cherry Creek, New York March 23, 1850. He was twice married, his first marriage being to Miss Mary Officer in Carthage 57 years ago. One son, Frank Kilbourn of New York City, survives of this marriage. Mr. Kilbourn's first wife died in 1891.
The following year he wedded Sarah Ann Herron, who died 17 years ago. Two children by this marriage survive, these being Mrs. Powers and R. W. Kilbourn, JR. of Springfield.
Mr. Kilbourn had been retired some years. He was employed in local carriage plants in early manufacturing days and later was connected with the Lanpher Bros. carriage shops. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias lodge.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
