Floyd Carl Poldrack Resident of Brentwood, age 77, departed this life and entered life anew surrounded by his loving family at his home in Brentwood on Tuesday evening, April 26, 2011. Floyd was born May 19, 1933 in Thorndale, Texas, a son of Carl and Emily Poldrack. He resided in Concord for 48 years before moving to Brentwood 9 years ago.

Floyd worked as a carpenter for 63 years, building custom homes and retiring as the carpentry supervisor for the Lawrence Berkeley Research Laboratory in 1995. He was a former leader for both the Boy and Girl Sea Scouts for many years. He also loved working in his wood shop at home, boating, and fishing. A devoted husband and father, his greatest passion was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchil-dren.

He was a longtime member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Concord and St. John's Lutheran Church in Antioch. Floyd will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Marietta Poldrack; beloved daughters Velina Herrenkohl (Robert), Laurie Walker, and Annette Poldrack (Eric); loving brothers and sister Clyde Poldrack (Carolyn), Carl Poldrack Jr. (Faye), and Ruby Gentry (James); four cherished grandchildren Robert J., Stephanie, Krista, and Rachelle; and six adored great-grandchildren Ava, Nathan, James, Megan, Gage, and Sean.

A Memorial Service will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4000 Clayton Road, Concord. Private Inurnment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sebastopol. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the East Bay, or to the Pacific Heart/Lung/Blood.
