John A. Hull, of Gettysburg, departed this life for eternal rest August 13.

He was the son of the late George and Gartha Trostle Hull.

Mr. Hull was a graduate of the East Berlin High School and Thompson's Business School in York. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army Air Corp as a pilot. He was employed by Adams County Motors from 1961 until his retirement in 2001. Prior to his employment with Adams County Motors, Mr. Hull had worked for Dunlap Tire Company for 25 years. He was a former Straban Township supervisor. John had also been a flight instructor in Adams County for many years.
He was a member of Mummert's Meeting House in East Berlin

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys M. Hull, who departed this life in 1998, and is survived by one son, David A. Hull of Gettysburg; three daughters, Linda L. Keller and Rhonda H. Kershner, both of Gettysburg, and Susanne H. Bailey of Hanover; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Hull and one sister, Lucinda Myers.
