He was born to Hazel Anna (Manganello) & Rall "Pete" Miller Conn. Pete grew up in Numa & attended Numa schools. He worked for both Centerville & Goughnour Monument companies. He later became self-employed & worked until his retirement.
His beloved wife Carol Sue died at the young age of 54 years, after nearly 37 years of marriage & five children together.
He was preceeded in death by both parents & siblings, Harley James Conn, Hazel Marie (Conn) Cowan, and infant twins Edna & Rall Conn.
Pete is survived by his companion, Mary Seals of Centerville, Iowa; five children, Pete Leroy Conn Jr. of Avery, Iowa, Diana Lynn Conn of Centerville, Iowa, Kimberly Sue McMahon of Kingman, Arizona, James Edward Conn of Centerville, Iowa, and Christopher Michael Conn of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Edward Lee Conn of Centerville, Iowa, nieces Sabrina, & Jennifer of MO, Edna "Edie" of IA, & nephew David Wayne Conn of Peoria,IL.
A visitation will be held from 1-4 PM on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Lange Funeral Home & Crematory in Centerville. Committal of the cremains will follow the visitation in the Numa Cemetery, Numa, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Pete L. Conn Sr. Memorial Fund and may be given to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544. Condolences may be shared online at www.langefh.com.
