Charles Henry Ford, Jr. (Ted) of Saginaw, Michigan, beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at the age of 79. Charles was born on July 16, 1932 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania to the late Charles Sr. and Francine (Alwine) Ford. Left to cherish Chuck's memory are two daughters and a son: Tamara Lutz of Holland, MI, Shawn (Richard) Sting of Saginaw, MI, and Thomas Ford of Ann Arbor, MI; seven grandchildren: Kyle and Troy Lutz, Jessica and Ryan Sting, Allie, Elsa and Lane Ford. Also surviving are a loving sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Frank Small and many extended family members. Chuck was a Veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus Council and the American Legion. He was also a long-time member of the Bridgeport Country Club. Chuck was employed as an agent for State Farm Insurance, retiring in 1997. He loved golf, playing cards, taking trips to his favorite casino, watching sports, and working outdoors in his yard was his pride and joy. Chuck's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and caregivers at Hospice of Hope and Lutheran Homes of Michigan for their compassion and care.

Chuck's Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn. Rev. Fr. James G. Heller will officiate. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of VFW Post #1859.

Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Monday, July 9, 2012 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Vigil Service honoring Chuck will take place at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening. The family will also be present on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to honor Chuck with a donation to Hospice of Hope, Lutheran Homes of Michigan, Seton Cancer Institute of St. Mary's of Michigan, or a charity of their choice.
