Alice Irene Mills left this earth on Thursday Feb. 1, 2001 at the age of 89 years. She passed away peaceable in her home, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born on Dec. 10, 1911 in Braggs, Oklahoma to John and Clevie Adams and has been a longtime resident of Wichita Falls. Mrs. Mills was the Valedictorian of Cashion High School in 1930. She married Wesley Benjamin Mills on April 8, 1931 whom preceded her in death in August of 1995. She was an active member of the City View Community since 1940 and a member of City View Baptist Church.
She is survived by one brother, Lindley Adams of Wichita Falls; three sons, Wesley Eugene Mills of Wichita Falls, Bobby Mills of Colona, Ill., and Jimmy Mills of Hallsville, Texas; and five daughters, Wanda Roozen of Wichita Falls, Betty Eaton of East Moline, Ill., Janetta Moore of Iowa Park, Peggy Brand of Wichita Falls, and Kathy Woolf of Graham. She is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Owens & Brumley is in charge of the services, which will be held Monday, Feb. 5, 2001 at 10 a.m. at City View Baptist Church on Iowa Park Road. Larry Pratt will be officiating. Interment will be at Crestview. The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. to receive visitors.
