William Henry Snook, aged 57 years, Milroy, passed away at the Lewistown Hospital, Thursday evening after months of suffering caused by a cancerous tumor of his stomach. During the last five weeks he was a patient at Lewistown Hospital where he underwent a surgical operation on Monday, April 13. . . . . .
Mr. Snook leaves his wife, whose maiden name was Miss Edith Traxler of Stone Valley, Huntingdon County, and the following four sons and four daughters: George Russell Snook and Ernest Lee Snook, Burnham; Charles Belmer and William Henry Snook, Jr., at their parental home, Milroy; Mrs. Aaron (Annie) Moyer, Burnham; Mrs. William (Catherine) Dolan, Milroy; Mrs. Sarah Osborne, Milroy, at her parental home; Mrs. Rufus (Mary) King, Milroy.
Eight grandchildren of Mr. Snook survive him.
During the last 27 years Mr. Snook was employed at the Stanard Steel Works, Burnham, his last place of employment having been in the steel foundry where he worked until he was disabled by his last illness.
During 17 years he resided in Reedsville Narrows and then he lived in Burnham until two years ago when he made his abode in Milroy where he was a member of the Methodist Church. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Snook of New Lancaster Valley where the son was born.
The funeral services will be conducted at the last residence of the deceased, Monday afternoon by Rev. J. Edward Jubler, pastor of the deceased, Milroy Nethodist Church. The burial will be made in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville. (Contributor: Blair Stoner)
