Death of Mr. DeWolf
Parish, Oct. 21. William DeWolf died at his home here last Saturday night (Oct. 19) of gangrene in his foot.
Mr. DeWolf was born in the town of German Flats, Herkimer County, December 1st, 1820. His father was a soldier under the First Napoleon and was with him in the invasion of Russia. He came to America after the downfall of Napoleon and practiced his trade of shoemaker, rearing a family of eight children.
William came to this place forty-six years ago and for thirty years he followed farming. He then kept the Railroad House at the station for ten years and then retired.
He married three times first Melissa Place, his second ClarissaComstock and his third Mary Weed, who Is still living.
He is also survived by one brother, Andrew, who lives at Thousand Island Park.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at the M.E. Church at 2 p.m.
