Edwin W. Warfield, 76, of Breinigsville, formerly of 2124 Glendale Ave., Bethlehem, died Wednesday, April 12, in the home of his daughter, Bonnie L., wife of Dr. Jack M. Treadway of Kutztown. He was the husband of Mildred B. (Frankenfield) Warfield. They were married for 58 years last May.
Warfield was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the Philippines and Japan. He was a prisoner of war for over three years, and a survivor of the Bataan Death March on the southern peninsula of Luzon, Philippine Islands.He was a member of the Ex-Prisoners of War, and the American Defenders of Bataan and Cregidor.
He was a meat cutter for the former Pantry Pride Food Store, Allentown, for 37 years before retiring in 1975.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Harper and Gertrude (Kleckner) Warfield.
He was a member of Jordan United Church of Christ, Allentown.
He was a former chairman of the board and a life member of the Izaak Walton Rod and Gun Club, a life member of the Guthsville Rod and Gun Club, and a member of the Pioneer Fire Company, Allentown, and the Allentown Fireman's Relief Association.
He was also a member of the Mountainville Senior Bowling League, 1979 to the present, and the Rosebowl 55 and Over League since 1995.
Survivors: Wife; daughter, Bonnie L., and two grandchildren.
