Miss Nellie Barriger of Bay City is visiting friends and relatives in Ellington.
Wm. Freeman of Bay City attended the funeral of the late Wm. Barriger, returning home Thursday.

William E. Barriger died suddenly of heart failure at the home of his son, Howard, in Ellington Corners at seven o'clock Monday morning, July 12. Four years ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis from which he never recovered, but was able to be about. He refused any breakfast and retired to the porch where he seated himself in a chair. It was not long before they heard a slight noise. His wife and son, Howard, saw something was amiss and they hastened to his side, but he passed away in about three minutes with only his wife and son near him.

Mr. Barriger was born in Dundas, Canada, 64 years ago the 2nd day of November. He was an active member in the church for many years and for 30 years a member of the M. E. church. Mr. Barriger was united in marriage to Sarah E. Albrant, Jan. 30, 1865. Ten children blessed this union but four have passed to the great beyond before the father.

Funeral services were held in the M. E. church conducted by Rev. R. L. Cope and the burial took place at the Ellington cemetery. Deceased leaves to mourn his departure a wife and six children, the latter being Mrs. Wm. Freeman, Mrs. Arthur Hendrick, and Miss Nellie Barriger of Bay City; William, Howard and Horace Barriger of Ellington. All attended the funeral.
