They are together in the 1880 census, but seem to have split up between 1885 and 1895. Lydia claims to be a widow in all censuses and city directories starting in 1899 that I have found her in, but I suspect she didn't want the stigma of being divorced. She moved to Biloxi, Mississippi, sometime between 1917 and 1920, and Charles joined her there about 1926.
