Born in Creagerstown, Sept. 30, 1903, he was a son of the late Jesse and Martha L. Fogle Fox.
He was a member of Frederick City Lodge 100, IOOF, and participated in several re-enactments of the Civil War. Mr. Fox operated Fox's Garage in Walkersville for several years. Prior to his retirement, he was a security guard at PEPCO, Dickerson.
He is survived by Mrs. Margaret E. Rouzer Fox, Frederick; one son, Stephen M. Fox, Frederick; three daughters, Mrs. Martha L. Brashears of Jefferson, Mrs. Margaret E. Johnson of Frederick and Mrs. Helen E. Thompson of Poolesville; one brother, Jay Franklin Fox, Creagerstown; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Mercer, Frederick, and Mrs. Leah Gruber, New Midway; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Friends may call at the Stauffer Funeral Home, Motter Avenue Extended, Frederick, from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 4 and from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, May 5. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, May 4 and 5. Services will be held from the funeral home chapel in Frederick at 11 a.m. Friday, May 6. The Rev. Gerald R. Mapstone, pastor of the Frederick Alliance Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
