Owen M. Barber married Ann Belle Fryrear in 1875 in Nelson County, Kentucky. Seven children were born to this union. There is a note in Passing Generations: Aug 15, 1895, O. M. Barber of Hodgenville, died at Roanoke last Saturday as the result of Injuries received from his horse which dragged him to death. Buried at Red Hill cemetery in Hodgenville. Was 45 years old. Married Miss Annie Fryrear of Boston 20 years ago. Had 5 children to survive him. (Note: Passing Generations must have erred. He has headstone with his wife in the Boston Christian Church Cemetery in Nelson County)
