Annie "Nancy" Hartsuff
(March 15, 1931 - July 2, 2012)

Hartsuff, Nancy

Annie Virginia "Nancy" Hartsuff (King) died on Monday, July 2, 2012. She was 81. Daughter of Ted and Peggy King, she graduated from Jackson High School in 1949 and then attended Jackson Junior College. She married Raymon Hartsuff in 1951 and had two children before working at Mercy Hospital and Foote Hospital. She retired from Foote in 1991. A devout Episcopalian, she was an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church from early childhood. In her retirement she volunteered there, as well as Hospice and the American Cancer Society.

Her family was her pride and joy. Of her five siblings she was preceded in death by her brothers Theodore (Jr.) And William King. She is survived by her brothers David and Fred King and her sister Julia Taylor. She was seldom apart from Ray, her beloved husband of 61 years, who survives her along with her daughter and son-in-law Katherine and Mathew Thornton (of Buchanan, MI) and her son Thomas Hartsuff (of Jackson). She was especially fond of her five grandchildren - Jadon Hartsuff, Emily Griffith, and Molly, Elizabeth, and Sean Thornton - and their families and accomplishments.

Visitation will be held at Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday, July 5, from 10:00am - 1:00pm, followed by a 1:00pm reception at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, a funeral Mass at 2:00pm at St. Paul's, officiated by long-time family friend The Rt. Rev. Peter H. Beckwith, and graveside burial at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to St. Paul's Episcopal Church or the American Lung Association.
