Mrs. Winona Allen, 86, died at the City Hospital Sunday afternoon, where she had been a patient the past two weeks. She had been in failing health for a year.
She was born March 12, 1870 in Ironton, Ohio and moved to Havelock, Nebr. as a bride. She lived there for many years before moving to Overland, Kans. In 1919 she moved to Norton, Kansas, coming to Junction City five years ago. For the past two years she had made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Melissa Britt.
Her husband, James A. Allen, died in December of 1924.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Elsie Rosengren of Omaha, Nebr.; Mrs. Melissa Britt of Junction City; Mrs. Ida Parker of Boulder, Colo.; one son, Harvey Allen of Clyde Park, Mont.; one sister, Mrs. Ida Briggs of Denver, Colo.
Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon, with burial in Highland cemetery.
