Albion—Masonic funeral services will be held at the Grinnell Funeral Home, 230 S. Main St., at 3:30 p. m. tomorrow for William M. Kenyon, 87, retired Albion businessman, former Orleans County sheriff and former justice of the peace.
Mr. Kenyon died yesterday afternoon (Feb. 11, 1944) in his home at 117 W. Bank St. Friends may call at the Grinnell Funeral Home. The Rev. H. La Marr Rice, pastor of the Baptist Church will officiate, and burial will be in Carlton Cemetery.
A member of the First Baptist Church and Renovation Lodge, F&AM, he was an active member of the Republican Party and served several years a justice of the peace here and one term as sheriff, from 1912 to 1916. At one time he operated three barrel factories in Kuckville, Carlton and Albion and was a former owner and operator of one of the largest fruit farms in this county, at Carlton. He formerly operated the Albion Kenyon Cab Company which made cabs for trucks.
Mr. Kenyon was born in Hamlin Nov. 29, 1856. On Mar. 24, 1875, he married Harriet Howard, who predeceased him. They had two sons. Surviving are a granddaughter, Mrs. Lloyd Moore, Albion; two grandsons, Lyell Kenyon, Buffalo, and Norman Kenyon, Albion; three great-grandchildren; two half brothers, Charles Kenyon of Hamlin and Harry Kenyon of Rochester; two half-sisters, Mrs. Florence Timmerman, Hamlin, and Mrs. Mabel Torpey, Rochester.
