F. Lawton Crutchfield, 80, Dies at Virginia Beach
F. Lawton Crutchfield, 80, of 3412 Noble ave., founder of Crutchfield & Co., a Richmond real estate and insurance firm, died Tuesday at a Virginia Beach hospital.
He was a native of Richmond and was educated in the public schools here. He served for many years as a member of the Richmond School Board and as a deputy clerk of Hustings Court.
He was a founder of Richeson and Crutchfield, a real estate firm, in 1909, and several years later he founded his own company.
Mr. Crutchfield was the last surviving charter member of Lewis Ginter Lodge 317, AF&AM.
He is survived by a son, Helms Crutchfield; a sister, Mrs. Aylett T. Goddin, both of Richmond; two grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Christian Funeral Home ,with burial in Hollywood Cemetery.
