FAMILY:
Willis and wife Elizabeth Meynard, made their home in then Copiah County, MS. about 6 miles East of Wesson, MS. in the vicinity of Little Bahala Baptist Church.

Sons of Willis and Elizabeth were Isaac Monroe, James Madison and Jessie.

Daughters were Missouri Callender Newton and Sarah Callender White and Elizabeth Callender Case.

Willis served in the Civil War, He contracted Typhoid Fever and died in the vicinity of Richmond, Va. His burial place was unknown to his immediate family for many years. His widow was left with six small children, the oldest 11 years of age. Her only means of support was a small farm with no labor except that of herself and her children. She died of dropsey of the heart in 1889 and was buried beside her daughter who died in 1882. Their burial place is in the Little Bahala Baptist Church Cemetery, Lincoln Co., near Wesson.
