Juell M. Hamer died Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Craig General Hospital in Vinita.

Hamer was born Aug. 2, 1907, in Asher to J.R. and Alvaretta (Lovelace) Hibbard. She moved to Quapaw in 1938 and to Wyandotte in 1953. She was living in Autumn Place Assisted Living Center in Welch.

She and her husband owned and operated a service station in Quapaw and bought an acreage in Wyandotte containing a service station and a convenience store. She worked as a postal clark in Asher as well as for Eastern State Hospital in Vinita and the Bank of Wyandotte. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Wyandotte.

She married Leeman E. Hamer on Sept. 11, 1926, in Tecumseh. He preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert H. Hamer on May 27, 2001, and three brothers, Frank Hibbard, Jim Hibbard and Vernon Hibbard.

Survivors include one brother, Clark Hibbard of Ardmore; one step-grandson, Derek Johnson of Broken Arrow, and two stepgreat-grandchildrern, Christopher and Nicole Johnson of Broken Arrow.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Wyandotte with the Rev. Robert Whitchurch officiating. Burial will be in Seneca (Mo.) Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dabney Smith, Dabney Smith Jr., H.B. Bauman, Paul Bauman, Charles Lofland and Larry Steele.

Arrangements are under the direction of Thomas Funeral Home of Welch.
