LeRoy H. Berry, age 77, of Columbus, Oh., passed away on January 10, 2002. He was born in Ashville, Oh. on June 7, 1924 and moved to Columbus in 1947. Preceded in death by his parents Clarence E. and Maude Berry, brother Ralph Berry and sister Dorothy Koch. Survived by wife, Erma Jean (Jean); daughters, Karen Jean Berry and Melanie Hessinger; son-in-law, Charles Hessinger; grandchildren, Justin, Kristin and Ashley Hessinger. Also survived by sisters, Mrs. Paul Partee (Freda) of Columbus, Mrs. Harold Cook (Margaret) of Ariz.; sister-in-law, Evelyn Berry of Grove City; plus many nieces and nephews. He was a member of Maple Grove Methodist Church. LeRoy retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad where he worked for over 30 years. The Berry family will receive friends between 12noon-2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15 at the WEIR-AREND FUNERAL HOME, 4221 North High St., Columbus. Service will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. with Dr. Joel S. Baer officiating. Graveside service will be held at Kingwood Memorial Park, 8230 Columbus Pike (U.S. Route 23), Lewis Center, Oh. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute to Hospice at Grant-Riverside Hospital or Maple Grove United Methodist Church in his memory.
