Accident Proves Fatal

The remains of Charles Boettler who was killed at Carter, Wyo. on Dec. 31, by a pumping engine, was brought to this city last Sunday. Funeral services were held from the Christian church Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock, conducted by Rev. LeMay Interment was made in the city cemetery.

Charles Boettler, son of Mr and Mrs. Louis Boettler, was born in Livingston county, Mo , Oct. 15, 1878, and died at the age of 35 years, 1 month and 26 days He came to Oklahoma in Feb. 1892 and married to Miss Effie Snyder Oct 31, 1905. They resided at Steamboat Springs, Colo., three years but returned to Oklahoma where they lived for two years. He moved to Carter, Wyo., residing there at the time of his death, which occurred on Dec 31, 1913. While not a member of any church organization he led a good, Christian life.

He leaves a wife and four children besides a mother, four sisters and seven brothers to mourn his loss

In his obituary his death location is incorrectly listed as being killed in Carter, Wyo. His death certificate lists Ogden, Weber County, Utah. He married Effie Snider October 31, 1904 (not the 1905 listed in his obituary) in Kingfisher County, OK. His name is listed as Charles Boettler on the marriage record. 1910 census and after has the family name as Butler. His death certificate lists his last name as Butler, his obituary lists Boettler, and his headstone has Buttler.
