Dorothy Deakins Reynolds (sister-in-law) to Ruth said Ruth was always frail and died from pneumonia. Her obituary of 23 Apr 1936 in St. Joseph MO paper reads:
Miss Dorothy Ruth Reynolds, thirty four years old, a teacher in the Faucett Grade School, died yesterday at the home of her parents, Mr. & Mrs. OB Reynolds, four miles south of Agency. She had been ill several days with pneumonia. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two brothers, Fred and Glenn Reynolds, both of Agency. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at the Agency Christian Church, of which she was a member, with the Rev. Floyd Taylor of St. Joseph officiating.
