Obituary: "Gertrude D. Wagner: Gertrude Dwyer Wagner, of Dixon was born on April 12, 1904, in St. Louis, a daughter of John Andrew and Mary Lydia Preiss Dwyer, and departed this life at 9:27 a.m., Sunday morning, July 13, 1997, in the Maries Manor Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Vienna. Mrs. Wagner had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 93 years, three months and one day…. Mrs. Wagner was united in marriage on November 15, 1923, in St. Louis County, to William Elmer Wagner, and to this union two children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 31, 1984; her parents; four brothers: Edward L. Dwyer, Jack D. "John" Dwyer, Alfred R. Dwyer and Timothy T. Dwyer; and three sisters: Mrs. Lucille Henley, Mrs Alice K. Cleary and Mrs. Laura Rekart… She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist, Rolla. She was a school teacher for 13 years during the 1950's and 1960's. Later she was a bookkeeper for United Van Lines, St. Louis, and the Doall Company, Kansas City….. Those left to mourn her passing include, one son: William E. "Bill" Wagner, Tampa, FL; one daughter: Mrs. Shirley Kaiser, Dixon; five grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends…. Cremation was under the direction of the Dixon Chapel of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. No services are planned at this time."
