John was last employed by Presidential Homes/Trilco.
He enjoyed going to flea markets, hunting and he was a baseball fan.
John was predceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy (Grover) Anderson; his mother and father, Joseph and Nellie (Bowker) Anderson; and two sisters, Mary Bowker and Beatrice Bowker.
He is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, John L. Anderson Jr. of Cape May County, N.J., Joseph L. and Kathleen Anderson of Browns Mills and William J. Anderson of Browns Mills; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Dorothy and Patrick Murphy of Cookstown, N.J. and Portia and John Statuto of Florence; one sister, Mildred Matthews of Pemberton; nine grandchildren, Michele Chencharick of New Egypt, Diane Murphy of Cookstown, Dakota Anderson of Florence, Candice Anderson, Bill Anderson Jr., Holly Anderson and Jesse James Anderson, all of Browns Mills, and Madison and Anthony Statuto of Florence; two great-grandchildren, Joshua Harry of New Egypt and Christian of Browns Mills; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for John will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 2 at the Browns Mills United Methodist Church, 2 Pemberton-Browns Mills Rd., Browns Mills, NJ 08015, with Pastor Dick Esher, officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday at the church. Burial will follow in the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veteran's Mem. Cemetery, Provinceline Rd., Arneytown, N.J.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Browns Mills United Methodist Church, 2 Pemberton-Browns Mills Rd., Browns Mills, NJ 08015.
