Funeral services for Ellis Lee Gidley, 80, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Bostick and the Rev. Vincent Whittington officiating. Burial will be in Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Gidley died Friday at Trinity Medical Center. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Gidley; his daughters, Betty Paslay-Story (Frank), of Jacksonville, and Jane Mayberry (James), of Wetumpka; grandsons, Cody Mayberry (Sarah), of Texas City, Texas and Nathan Mayberry (Jessica), of Eastaboga; brother-in-law, Rudolph Jackson, of Oxford and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ina Franks; his grandsons, Michael Scott Paslay and Dustin Shane Paslay; great-grandson, Michael Shane Paslay; parents, Lee and Lois Gidley; two sisters and one brother. Pallbearers will be Cody Mayberry, Nathan Mayberry, James Mayberry, Frank Story, Jeff Jackson and Jerry Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Wasner, Cranston Nelson, Leon Dean, Rudolph Jackson and Cason McCoy and First Baptist Church Counting Committee. Mr. Gidley was a member of First Baptist Church of Oxford and retired from Anniston Water Works after 37 years of service.
