Stephen "Chip" Fetchko, 87, of Palmerton, died Friday, Nov. 5, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was the husband of Marlene M. (Stein) Fetchko. They celebrated 25 years of marriage this past April 24.
He worked for the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 45 years before retiring in 1985.Born in Whitehall (Cementon), he was a son of the late John and Mary (Mudrick) Fetchko.He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Palmerton.Fetchko was a life member of the Raccoon Club, Northampton, and the Democratic Club, Danielsville, and a member of the V.F.W . Post, Palmerton.
H e was a seaman first class in the Navy during World War II, having served in the American, European, Middle East and Pacific theaters.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a stepson, Jeffrey Hall, and his wife, Melissa, of Lehighton; a sister Veronica, wife of Donald Anderson of Allentown; a stepgrandson, Brandon Hall; and many nieces and nephews.He was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.Service: Panichida service 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Ave., Palmerton; Divine Liturgy 10 a.m., SS.
