He was the son of Randall and Lorena Hinman. He was a 33 year, U.S. Air Force veteran who served in law enforcement. Phillip began his career with the Erie County (NY) Sheriff's Department and the Bureau of Special Services in the Buffalo, NY Police Department, retired and worked for the U.S. Immigration Service at Toronto, Canada, later in West Palm Beach, FL and retired from Port Canaveral, FL. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Carolyn; twin sister, Phyllis (Vincent) Barone of Williamsville, NY; sons, Mark (Pauline) of Buffalo, Jon, Sr of Palm Bay, FL, Shawn (Suzanne) of Ottawa, Ontario; grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Amanda, Austin, Jake, Jessie, Jon, Jr, Jason, Alec, Bryan, Caytlyn and Seth and great-grandchildren, Kali, Bayleigh and Brooke. He was a member of Hope United Church of Christ in Rockledge, FL, a Mason, Knight of the Order of St John of Jerusalem, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, U.S. Navy Radioman's Association; U.S. Navy YAGR Ships' Association, Air Force Security Police Association, DAV, VFW, Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War, FOPA and Sons of the American Revolution. A Memorial Service will be held at the Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home on Merritt Island, FL on July 6, 2012. An Interment Service will tentatively take place on July 21, 2912.
