James L. and Lenore Yeager Garland, of Rocky Hill, CT, formerly of Knox County, were united in marriage on August 28, 1937 in Coalgood and to this union four children were born.

James passed away at the age of 99 on March 24, 2005 and was a son of the late Perry and Ida L. Townsley Garland born on January 2, 1906 at Hammond.

Lenore passed away at th e age of 90 on August 17, 2008 and was a daughter of the late Dave E. and Lucy Ellen Hammons Yeager born on September 18, 1917 in Davisburg.

James and Lenore moved to Boca Grand, FL in the mid 1940's, where James was the principal of the island school.

Lenore was a homemaker and devoted to her family. During the next 40 years they moved to various towns throughout central Florida until James' retirement in 1986.

After living in North Palm Beach near their daughter and grandsons for 13 years, they returned to Kentucky to live with their niece, Marie Mills.

In 2000, as their health declined, they moved to Connecticut to once again be near their daughter.

In addition to their parents, James and Lenore were preceded in death by three infant children, Judith, Janet and James David Garland; James' brothers and sisters, Beckham Garland, Charles Garland, Etta Garland Bargo and Rose Garland Cole and two half-brothers, Floyd Hinkle and Otto Price; and Lenore's brother and two sisters, Eugene Yeager, Pearl Yeager Herman and Ethel Yeager Sipple.

Survivors include a daughter, Helen Reynolds and husband, Paul, of Tolland, CT; two grandsons, David Reynolds and Jonathan Reynolds both of Tolland, CT; among other loved ones and dear friends.

A joint memorial service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, September 27 at 3 P.M. with Dr. Ted Satterfield officiating.

Internment will follow in the Yeager and Powell Cemetery.
