Dr. Alley had practiced in Midvale since 1918. He specialized in the treatment of goiter. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1908 and from the Phildelphia Medical Surgical School in 1913. He had also studied at the Mayo Clinic at Rochester, Minn; at the University of Vienna and the University of Switzerland.
Dr. Alley was a member of the Salt Lake County Medical Society, the Utah State Medical Association, and the American Medical Association. He had been a member of the staff of St. Mark's and the LDS hospitals. His civic service included membership for four years on the Midvale City Council and President of the Midvale Lion's Club. At the time of his death he was an active member of the Midvale Kiwanis Club.
He was born June 13, 1885 in Laketown, Rich County, son of Charles H. and Adaline York Alley. On Jan. 21, 1915 he married Edna McElravy in Salt Lake City. Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. C. Nelson (Elizabeth) Day, Fillmore; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at 8090 South State Street from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday prior to services. Burial will be in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
