He was a lifetime Carthage resident. He worked for Steadley's for 43 years. He started in the plant and later became the Engineering manager.
He attended New Salem Church, Red Oak II.
He was in the Navy, a veteran and of the Korean War. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, Carthage, and was also a Master Mason.
He married Ann Plumer Jan. 23, 1994 at Red Oak II Carthage. She survives. He is also survived by a daughter Debra "Debbie" Harrison and husband Troy, four grandchildren, Teresa Lashmet and husband Shawn, Christopher Bane, Carrie Bane, Sandy Brown, three and a half great grandchilddren Brittany, Bailey and Jonathan and future baby Lashmet.
One son Michael Bane preceded him in death in 1995.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m Monday Rev. 16, at Ulmer Funeral Home. Rev. Kenny Epperson will officiate. Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday Feb. 15, at Ulmer Funeral Home. The body will be cremated and there will be a private family service at a later date.
