On July 3, 1881, he married Sophia Dankert, at Hanna. Surviving are his widow; one son George, of Hanna; three daughters, Elizabeth Holtz, of LaPorte, Edith Sacks and Florence Sacks, both of Hanna; one brother, Oscar, of LaPorte; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
