05/14/1861 Hockaday (?) Blister, Co. I, Pvt. - Pvt.,"Hack" mustered in at Camp Barksdale near Union City. Born May 2,1840. Parents were Edmond and Matilda Brister, his grandfather, Hockaday was buried between West and Durant Miss. He has four brothers serving the Confederacy: William, Edmond, and Samuel in Co. D of the 40th Miss. Infantry and Zachariah who fought in Capt. Tillman Lomax's Light Artillery. (Personal information from Ray Dinstele.)
