Amy Jeanne was born March 16, 1916 in Marion County the daughter of Irene Arvilla Smith and Gilbert Edward Harsin. She grew up in the Knoxville area and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1934. After high school, she taught school for three years.
She was united in marriage to Merwin Bruere Hollingshead on December 24, 1936. She operated Hollingshead's Flowers just off the square in Knoxville for over 20 years. She was a member of the Breckenridge Society, Order of the Eastern Star, Liberty Garden Club, and the First Christian Church in Knoxville, where she taught Sunday School for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother; and a sister. She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Donnelly of Iowa City; a son, Gary of El Paso, Texas; two broothers, J.D. Jarsin of Topeka, Kan., and Willis Harsin of Knoxville; a sister, Helen Loynachan of Pella; four grandchildren, and six greatgrandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Iowa Golden Chapter. Arrangements were made by Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville.
