After Lester's mother's death ,he was taken from his maternal grandparents by Dr.E. S. Fitzmaurice, he then left him with the AAmondt's with promise of paying for his care. In a four year time he only gave $90 and some cheap clothing . He stole Lester's inheritance with the help of William Clifford and J. C. Peters, the President of the State Bank of Mohall in North Dakota . There is a chapter in a book Jim Jam Jems by Jim Jam Junior, 'Stealing a Child's Inheritance' telling Lester's story.
