CARMI, ILL. —
Ada S. Magers, 85, of Norris City, passed away at 6:59 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2012, at the Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi.
Ada was born on Aug. 27, 1926, in Groveland to the late Harvey and Luella Staker. She graduated from Morton High School and the Mennonite School of Nursing in Normal. She was a registered nurse, retiring from Egyptian Health Department.
Her husband of 53 years, Delbert E. Magers, preceded her in death on June 18, 2011.
Ada is survived by a daughter, Martha Magers of Norris City; a son and daughter-in-law, Louie and Trena (Armstrong) Magers of Morris; two grandsons, Grant and Alex Magers; and one granddaughter, Olivia Magers all of Morris.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Evergreen Cemetery in Chester. Pastor Mike Fields will officiate. Those attending are asked to gather at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mennonite School of Nursing Scholarship Fund or the Saline County 4-H Program. Reed Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
