Phebe became the second wife of DW Palmer in 1850, a machinist who took the family to Palmyra near bloody Lawrence, KS to farm; Daniel and one sons died there in August 1863.

Phebe returned with some members of her family to Andover where 2 infants died in October 1864.Hannah shows died 1866. Phebe also shows on the 1870 census living with son Solomon laborer age 15, Hannah E, Abraham, and Phebe A.
